Dubbed Nokia 9, the smartphone is set to be packed to the gills with features and is expected to come with an Iris Scanner, Carl Zeiss cameras and a QuadHD OLED display. Nokia will surely have bring their A game if they hope to drive customers away from flagships like the Galaxy S8, OnePlus 3T and LG G6.
Specifications
Leaks and rumours point towards the Nokia 9 being a specification monster. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor- the Snapdragon 835 paired with the Adreno 540 GPU, a 3,800mAh battery with QuickCharge 4 support and a whopping 6GB of RAM.
Additionally, the smartphone is set to come with a Quad HD 5.5-inch OLED display, 64/128GB of internal storage and the latest iteration of Android - 7.1.2 Nougat - out of the box.
Carl Zeiss cameras
Nokia has historically been known for making great cameras through their partnership with Carl Zeiss. We have seen an example of Nokia's imaging prowess through iconic smartphones like the N95 which was one of the first in the world to come with a 5MP camera and the Nokia 808 PureView which came with a whopping 41MP camera sensor.

With the Nokia 9, HMD Global may be re-starting that successful partnership. Rumours point towards the Nokia 9 coming with a 22MP dual lens Carl Zeiss rear camera paired with a 12MP front facing camera for selfies.
Iris scanner
The Nokia 9 is rumoured to come with an Iris Scanner like the one found on the recently released Samsung Galaxy S8. An Iris Scanner, which was first seen on the ill-fated Samsung Galaxy Note 7, allows users to unlock their smartphone with their eyes.
IP68 dust and water resistance
Making smartphones waterproof seems to be the norm these days. Following in the footsteps of the LG G6, Sony's Xperia series and Samsung Galaxy S8, the Nokia 9 is expected to come with IP68 dust and water resistance.
Price and availability
The Nokia 9 is reportedly set to be priced at around EUR 749 in European markets, $699 in the U.S. and Rs 44,999 in India. The fact that the Indian price is the cheapest amongst the lot points towards how serious a market India is for Nokia's comeback.

Due to Snapdragon 835 supply issues, the smartphone is not expected to be launched before Q3 2017 - sometime between July and August. If you cannot wait to get your hands on a Nokia device, fret not as the already announced devices are set to go on sale soon.
The 2017 refresh of the legendary 3310 is expected to be launched globally in April, with the Nokia 6, 5 and 3 receiving a staggered release throughout May.
Two more high-end smartphones from Nokia
Alongside the Nokia 9, rumours of two more high-smartphones from Nokia have also been circulating around the Internet. Called the Nokia 8 and Nokia 7, they are expected to slot in below the Nokia 9 in Nokia's smartphone line-up and be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 660 chipset.nokia 9: carl zeiss cameras
While the Nokia 7 is expected to come with a fullHD display, the Nokia 8 is expected to bump things up a notch with a Quad HD panel. Both smartphones are also expected to sport a metallic unibody design and run Android Nougat out of the box.
